Sam Wilcox – Crossfit

Bio
At a young age I played for and captained my local football team for many years until I decided to join the British Army a week after my 16th birthday. The football then stopped and I started to become interested in strength and conditioning and some running in line with my Army training. In 2011 I decided to take up boxing and went on to win the Royal Engineer Championships. In about 2013 I decided to start CrossFit, I joined my local box CrossFit 3D and have been there ever since, competing in a few competitions and completing my level 1 Coaching course in 2014. In 2015 I also transferred over from the Royal Engineers to the Royal Army Physical Training Corps and I have also gained 2 foundation degrees in Sport Science and Sport Health and fitness whilst being in the Army and I am looking to complete full hons in the near future.

NO.1 FISSION NUTRITION SUPPLEMENT AND WHY?
AV-8TION Hard core Pre Workout because it helps to ready the body for a hard workout which can sometimes be tough after a long hard day
FAVOURITE TRAINING ROUTINE AND WHY?
I like to get up in the mornings to do cardio, this usually involves some intervals on the rower, air bike, swimming or even running. I then like to work on some gymnastic skill work around lunchtime and finish in the evening with Olympic lifting, strength work and maybe a tough metcon.
TYPICAL DAILY NUTRITION PLAN?
I usually do fasted cardio in the mornings, then have a G –Tec 5 Protein shake straight after followed up by some salmon and egg. Mid-morning I usually have some Fat free total yoghurt with blueberries, peanut butter and some more G Tec 5 Protein. Lunchtime I usually have a jacket potato with tuna, followed by some oats with nutella, granola and strawberries just before training. After training I then have a bowl of cereal or a bagel and a Protein shake and in the evening I have some chicken and rice.
