Rosie Kingston – Crossfit

Bio

Sport has always been a huge part of my life, since a young age I remember taking part in every sport I could.

I was advised to start athletics by my teacher at school when I was 11 so I joined the local athletics club Bicester AC, where I competed in Long Jump, Sprints and Hurdles. I competed at a National Standard throughout my junior years competing in National Championships, Regional Championships and English Schools.
Prior to leaving Oxfordshire to complete my undergraduate degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University I competed locally for Radley AC. Once in Cardiff I was coached by Matt Elias, and higher claimed Cardiff AAC to compete at a higher standard of athletics. Throughout the three years at University I achieved a huge personal best in the 100m, Long Jump and 100m Hurdles. I also managed to reach finals of BUCS Chamionships, win The Welsh Senior Outdoor Championships and be invited to my first Indoor and Outdoor British Senior Championships. When I moved back to Oxfordshire I was asked if I would like to go to a local crossfit box in Didcot by my boyfriend to do a session, from that point on I was hooked. Due to no longer being coached in Cardiff and struggling mentally to complete track sessions on my own I decided that I was going to focus mainly on Crossfit over athletics and since then I haven’t looked back!

Fission Supplements Used

  • AV-8tion

  • Chocolate hydro-Iso whey

NO.1 FISSION NUTRITION SUPPLEMENT AND WHY?

Hydro-Iso Whey, it tastes amazing! Since using this product, I don’t seem to get DOMS as much as I used to!

FAVOURITE TRAINING ROUTINE AND WHY?

I really enjoy team/competitors training due to working in groups to get all the reps done! But currently I am following a programme set by one of the coaches at The Athlete Centre Didcot which is personalised to my own goals.

Typically I train Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday following a personalised programme, then Thursday and Saturday I take part in team/competitors training which is geared towards team competitions. Sessions vary day to day and have a different focus, these being; strength, gymnastics, and WODs.

One thing I enjoy about crossfit is the fact that every single session is different, and there is loads that can be worked on.
